S Baskar Reddy

S. Baskar Reddy is the Executive Director of Syngenta Foundation India. He has over 17 years of experience in the agriculture sector. He is currently working on scaling-up the flagship initiative of the foundation in India i.e. Agri-Entrepreneur (AE) model. He is also the Director on Agri-Entrepreneur Growth Foundation (AEG Foundation), which plans to develop 100,000 agri-entrepreneurs in the next five years.

Before joining the Syngenta Foundation India, he was the Director for Agriculture, Food Processing and Water divisions at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).He worked closely with the Ministry of Agriculture on policy formulation and implementation of some key policies in agricultural marketing, extension, warehousing, farm machinery and PPPs in agriculture. Baskar was instrumental in developing the first PPP framework in agriculture i.e. Public-Private Partnership for Integrated Agriculture Development (PPPIAD).

He holds a master’s degree in water science and technology and Ph.D. in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering from IARI, New Delhi.
